What is environmental certification?
“high environmental value” level is based on performance indicators. A farming certification, which enables growers to label their products with a value statement “from farms certified as having high environmental value”, guarantees a farm’s high level of environmental performance on the entire estate to preserve the natural ecosystem and minimize pressure on the environment (soil, water, biodiversity, etc.). This is a valuable mention, provided by the “Rural and maritime fisheries” Code.
Environmental certification is a voluntary system built around 4 themes:
- Biodiversity: all our plots are surrounded by forests, hedges, grass, to promote the biodiversity of fauna and flora.
- Phytosanitary strategy: the use of phyto certified “organic agriculture” has been the rule in the field for many years, and treatments are carried out sparingly
- Fertilisation management: since its creation, the soils receive only organic amendments in winter and organic algal fertilisation during the vegetative development phase.
- Water resource management: do not pollute, do not divert sources, maintain soil permeability
